Anatomy of Brooklyn Bean Coffee Capsule

The Brooklyn Bean Roastery single cup capsule works in Keurig, Breville, Bunn MyCafe Universal and other K-cup type coffee brewers.   The Brooklyn Bean Roastery capsule is configured much like the original k-cup but the filter inside the cup is unique.

The Brooklyn Bean capsule does have a bottom and uses the standard Keurig "double puncture" brewing process of the Keurig brewer.

Brooklyn Beans Roastery is currently roasting and packaging about 20 different roasts / flavors of their coffee in single cup capsules.

The Brooklyn Bean single cup capsule is filled with fresh ground coffee, is nitrogen flushed to remove the oxygen and sealed for freshness.

The filter is formed and has a lip that sits on the top edge of the plastic cup.
The Brooklyn Bean single cup capsule has a foil lid, plastic cup, freestanding filter and of course the coffee.

In this photo, you can see the unique bottom of the filter.  The filter in the Brooklyn Bean capsule appears is a freestanding component.   We have not observed this method with any other producer of single cup capsules.
